SUBJECT:  BUDGET REVIEWS

Budget review continues.  Discussions took place with the Animal Control Officer, Chief of Police, Highway Superintendent, and the Treasurer/Tax Collector/Accounting Officer.

Salaries:
A decision was made to combine all individual salary line items into one, breaking out each position and salary separately.  Hopefully, this will make it easier for the tax payers to understand.

The Police Chief asked that if his budget is impacted by a decrease he be informed as early as possible so he can rearrange his priorities prior to Town Meeting.  All attendees agreed that this was an excellent request and will endeavor to make this a policy with all department heads.  

The Trash Compactor Staff salary was a topic of discussion.

Health Insurance Payments:  The disparity in the amount the town is co-paying health benefits between the Highway Supervisor and Management Assistant, 50% versus 65% was explained as part of the negotiated employment agreement between the Selectmen and Management Assistant.        

Next Fin-Com meeting to be determined.
